Regulations for the Quinton Motor Club-organised Nicky Grist Stages will be published on Sunday (23 May) with Entries opening at 18:00 on Monday (24 May).

The event, which takes place on Saturday 10 July, is a round of eight major championships:

  • Motorsport UK British Rally Championship
  • MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Series
  • Motorsport UK Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship
  • Motorsport UK National Rally Championship
  • Motorsport UK English Rally Championship in association with Seacon UK Ltd
  • HRCR Rally Masters Stage Championship
  • Welsh Historic Rally Championship
  • ANWCC Forest Rally Championship

Competitors registered for any of the above championships, together with members of Quinton MC, can enter the Nicky Grist Stages from Monday, while all other crews can enter from 18:00 on Monday 31 May.

With many of the above championships receiving a surge in registrations in recent weeks, including a number of crews from Southern Ireland, the Nicky Grist Stages is hopeful of a high level of interest.

The event (subject the Welsh government guidelines) will consist of 44 stage miles through the super smooth gravel roads of Llyn Login, Monument, Halfway and Crychan forests, located in and around the Epynt military range. There will be a total of just 80 road miles.

The event is based in Builth Wells – with rally headquarters and signing on in Strand Hall, the Service Area located on the Builth Wells rugby pitch and the start and finish in Groe Park.

“Everything is set for a superb and Covid-19 safe return of rallying to the Welsh forests,” says Nicky Grist Stages Clerk of the Course Neil Cross.

“The Nicky Grist Stages will be the first major rally in Wales since February 2020, so we expect a high level of interest and strongly recommend that competitors to get their entries in as soon as possible.”

Seeded entry applications close at 20:00 on Friday 2 July.
